Frederica Caneiro is a certified canine behavior counsellor and dog trainer with over 5 years of experience supporting dog owners through personalized behavioral consulting. Her work is grounded in science, empathy, and a deep understanding of canine behavior, communication, and emotional needs.
She has completed the Dog Trainer Course at Dogga Academy for Dogs (with Pedro Runa) and holds a diploma in Canine Behavior Science and Technology with a specialization in Aggressive Behavior from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute, where she graduated with honors under James O’Heare.
Her additional professional development includes the Aggression in Dogs course by Michael Shikashio (Aggressive Dog, 2023), Adestramento Funcional 2.0 with Dante Camacho (Dante Dog Works), and Canine Essential 101 with Sindhoor Pangal (BHARCS).
Frederica is the founder of Doggest, a project dedicated to educating dog owners and promoting a more respectful and balanced coexistence between humans and dogs. She specializes in behavioral consultations that address complex issues, such as aggression, reactivity, fear, and stress, always prioritizing the emotional well-being of both dog and owner.
Her work is uniquely informed by her ongoing study of free-ranging street dogs in countries like India and Sri Lanka. These observations shape her understanding of natural canine behavior and enrich the insights she brings to domestic dog care and education.
