Nicosia, CY — August 12, 2026 — Woofz by nove8 – the all-in-one dog training app for pet parents, helping dogs live happier, healthier lives – has today launched the ‘Paw-nup’, a light-hearted agreement for couples to outline their pawrental duties. Marking National Dog Day on 26 August, the playful feature reimagines the traditional prenup for dog parents, encouraging couples to have honest conversations about the shared responsibilities of pet ownership before disagreements arise.
A recent Woofz survey found that disagreements over care are common among couples who share a dog, with 83% having argued about their pet and 18% disagreeing frequently. Often, couples feel that the responsibility of pet care is unevenly shared, with 69% believing they do more of the daily care and just 21% agreeing they split the workload evenly. With 35% insisting their partner doesn’t contribute enough, this tension can put pressure on relationships. One in seven insist dog ownership has impacted their relationship, for instance, and 6% admit their pet has contributed to a breakup.
Rather than outlining the terms of a separation, Woofz’s Paw-nup will help couples to define their roles in the pack, encouraging agreement on everything from daily walks to vet visits – helping to avoid future disagreements and keeping every tail wagging.
Couples can generate their customized Paw-nup by taking a short quiz on Woofz’s website. They enter their names, their pet’s name, and answer questions about how they currently divide pet care tasks, such as walks, feeding, training, vet care, hygiene, and night care. The quiz also covers house rules, such as whether pets are allowed on furniture or whether they’re given table scraps.
Based on their responses, they’re given a personalized conflict-proof score, revealing how evenly they split the workload and how closely their approaches to pet ownership align. Likewise, they also receive a personalized one-page Paw-nup, ready to sign, print, and display.
“Dog ownership isn’t always cuddles and playtime. There are plenty of messes to clean, early morning walks, and late-night wake-up calls. In fact, our survey showed that disagreements over dog care are incredibly common. While Woofz’s Family Sharing, used by a third of all users, already helps couples to align on training and routines, we wanted to take it a step further by creating a fun, light-hearted way for them to define their responsibilities, rather than argue over whose turn it is,” said Natalia Shahmetova, founder of Woofz by nove8. “Relationships benefit when everyone’s on the same page, and so do our pets. Consistency is one of the most important parts of raising a happy, well-adjusted dog, and it’s much easier to build and stick to those routines when pet parents work together.”
