Shannon Kenny
CPDT-KA certified dog trainer
Shannon is a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer with over 4 years of professional experience helping hundreds of dog owners. She began her training journey working with shelter dogs and walking dogs for clients, where she quickly discovered her passion for animal behavior.
Shannon is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy and is also a Fear Free Certified Trainer, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques exclusively.
Before entering the dog training field full-time, Shannon was a member of the Rutgers University Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit, where she had the opportunity to work with and train horses. Since then, she has taught group classes ranging from puppy kindergarten to scentwork. She has worked one-on-one with clients and supported dogs with a wide range of needs, from basic manners to behavioral challenges.
Shannon is passionate about force-free and science-based training methods that prioritize the emotional well-being of both dogs and their humans. She strongly believes that training is about more than just commands; it’s about building a connection rooted in trust, communication, and mutual respect. Her approach helps clients better understand their dogs while fostering confidence and cooperation in every training session.
Shannon is currently employed at Michael’s Pack in New Jersey and enjoys working with puppies to build strong foundations for lifelong good behavior, as well as helping owners tackle common challenges such as loose-leash walking, recall, and confidence-building for fearful or anxious dogs.
Outside of training, Shannon can be found exploring trails with her Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Elodie!
